Salisbury DJ Academy is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all students, staff, volunteers and stakeholders. We value diversity and aim to create an inclusive environment free from discrimination, harassment, and victimisation. We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination.

This policy is underpinned by the Equality Act 2010, which protects individuals from unfair treatment and promotes a fair and more equal society. The Act identifies the following protected characteristics:

3. Scope

This policy applies to:

- All learners and prospective learners

- All staff (full-time, part-time, temporary, freelance, or volunteer)

- Visitors, contractors, and suppliers

- Any individual or organisation associated with Salisbury DJ Academy


4. Commitments

Salisbury DJ Academy will:

- Provide equal access to learning and development opportunities

- Ensure recruitment, admissions, assessment, and progression practices are fair and transparent

5. Responsibilities

- Management is responsible for ensuring that the policy is implemented and reviewed regularly.

- All staff and tutors must actively promote inclusion and ensure their conduct aligns with this policy.

- Students are expected to treat others with respect and contribute to an inclusive environment.

6. Complaints and Concerns

Any individual who feels they have been subjected to discrimination or unfair treatment is encouraged to raise their concerns through our Complaints Procedure. All complaints will be taken seriously and handled sensitively and promptly.

7. Monitoring and Review

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure compliance with current legislation and the effectiveness of its implementation. Monitoring may include student and staff feedback, diversity statistics, and complaint outcomes.
